One of his first films as an animator was in "2 in the AM PM". It is much more vulgar than Regular Show, including swearing and drug use, but it does have some of the same character ideas and voices as in Regular Show. Another film he did was "The Naive Man from Lolliland" where Sam Marin voiced both the waiter and the first Pops. Also, he starred as an animator in the credits of the 2008 movie "Horton Hears a Who!" and on the Phineas and Ferb episode, "Jerk de Soleil".

J.G. Quintel currently lives in Los Angeles, CA. He has been married for two years to Cassia Streb (not Janie Haddad, contrary to rumors). He attended high school in Hanford, California in 1997, and graduated shortly after May of 2000, when he was nominated as a 12th grade California academic all-star. After high school, Quintel attended the California Institute of Arts in Valencia. In 2004, J.G. obtained an internship at Cartoon Network studio to work on the Star Wars: Clone Wars television series.

He has worked with Thurop Van Orman (Flapjack) and Pendleton Ward (Adventure Time) at least once. He was a regular crew member on Flapjack and helped write the Adventure Time episode, "Ocean of Fear". He went to the California of Arts University with Pen, who is as old as him. His mother is Terri Morris and his father is James Allen Quintel. He also has a younger brother, Peyton Dean, who plays the bass.
